As a travelling art project a few years ago, I wove 5 different small forms of thin copper wire, and then papered & partially plastered them. This dark little flower is one of the group. The next sculpture, effigy, is also from that group.

The copper is woven in an open lattice, then covered with mixed media. The inside of the form is partially translucent, with layers of plaster, papers, and wax are built up thicker towards the outer edge. This piece can be hung on a wall as well as set on a surface.
